It is only about an hour drive from Ranua, inter alia, to Rovaniemi Arctic Circle and Santa Claus village, to Kemi for the ice castle and icebreaker cruise, to Iso-Syötte for skiing or to Posio to see the wonderful Korouma canyon and Pentik village.

The free-flowing Simojoki is Finland’s only free salmon river besides Tenojoki and is a perfect place for fishermen to test their skills. Other surrounding water bodies and hunting grounds create good opportunities for different hobbies throughout the year.
Less than a kilometer from Wikkelä, you can find an official snowmobile route, which will lead you to different parts of Lapland. Ranua’s famous cloudberry swamps are also only a few minutes’ walk from the villa.
