60 percent of Ranua’s area is swamp. Cloudberry picking, trade and tourism have a long history in Ranua and play a significant role in the livelihood of the people in Ranua.
The municipality has published cloudberry maps based on local knowledge.
Naturally, in addition to cloudberries, you can find blueberries, lingonberries, raspberries and mushrooms.
